Mat 23

This mat of mosses contains at least three different species of mosses. The are listed in the moss menu as Moss 23A (upper-right in image), Moss 23B (lower-right in image), and Moss 23C (left half in image). The mat was observed on a limestone boulder on the slope of a moist, shaded canyon. Only a hand lens is necessary to see and distinguish the three mosses. No mosses should be removed, but they can be easily observed in place.
