Moss 23B

This very small moss occurs among Moss 23A and Moss 23B in large mats on limestone boulders occurring on the slopes of the shaded canyons. Each gametophyte plant is assending. The leafs are small and narrow with no well-developed awns. When dry the leaves produce a pattern of total confusion. Refer to the image in Mat 23 for comparison with the other occurring mosses.
