Centric Marine Diatoms of Washington State
These marine diatoms were surf-collected near the Olympic Forest in Washington State. Analysis indicated much mixing of freshwater and marine diatoms at this location due to the numerous small streams running directly into the Pacific Ocean. Probably all the centric diatoms are of marine origin. Due to their extreme photogenic nature I decided to include this non-Texas array.
