CenTex Birds


Due to the diverse habitats the variety of birds to be seen in the Miller Springs Nature Center probably reflects all those found in Bell County. Most visible are the vultures, hawks, and large water birds. Bring along a pair of field glasses and a good guide to the birds. Notice what occurs in each habitat; keep a checklist. Follow the trails in the wooded areas. Quitely explote the canyons. Observe the wetlands. The prairie habitat will have its varieties. Walk slowly and quitely along the Leon River. Look for bird tracks in the wet areas. Listen for their calls.
